Furniture Restoration & Care:

At MN Interior Antiques, we appreciate the craftsmanship, character and history of antique and vintage furniture.

Prodec Green Aluminium Oxide Sandpaper is a practical addition to any furniture restoration toolkit. It helps prepare suitable wooden surfaces for painting, staining, waxing or varnishing.

Choosing the correct grit is important when restoring furniture.

• 40–60 Grit: Coarse sanding for heavy material removal on suitable surfaces.
• 80–120 Grit: General sanding, smoothing and surface preparation.
• 150–180 Grit: Finer sanding before applying compatible finishes.

For best results, begin with an appropriate grit and work progressively towards a finer grade. Sand with the direction of the wood grain where possible and remove dust between stages.

Important: Avoid aggressive sanding on delicate veneers, original finishes or historically significant antique furniture. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before use. Wear suitable respiratory and eye protection, especially when working with old coatings or unknown materials.
