Description
This is a high-quality Mid-Century Green and Cream Bay West German Fat Lava Vase. It has impressed markings on the base.
Bay Keramik, also known as Bay Pottery, has a rich history. It is deeply connected to Germany’s ceramic tradition. It was founded in 1933 by Eduard Bay in Ransbach-Baumbach, a region known as Kannenbäckerland or “potters’ land”.
Initially, Bay produced utilitarian wares, such as unglazed terracotta cooking pots. By the 1950s, the company was one of the top names in West German art pottery. It was primarily known for its bold shapes and bright glazes. Designers like Bodo Mans helped shape Bay’s look. They introduced bold geometric patterns and rich textured surfaces.
No chips or cracks.
